Our time in Okinawa just gets better everyday, and we are growing and learning so much as a team in this time together. We have spent a week in Itoman City, which has a beautiful beach and is a relaxed town filled with the kind Okinwan spirit. We began our week doing many prayer walks around the city, you can really feel the spirit of death that is a hold on this country because of the ancestory worship. The spiritual war is very strong here and death has had a grip on this city for along time. The pastor was telling us that many people have tried to start churches here, but ended up failing because of the spiritual war was too intense and no people attended the churches. We also got to be apart of church activities for a week, which ment attending prayer meetings and cell groups where Claudio and Young were able to share their testimonies to a group of woman.  The Okinawan people really want us to understand their culture and ways before we can evangelise to them, so they have been showing us the parts of their lives they hold so dearly. This includes the peace memorial park, where many Okinawans died during the Battle of Okinawa and they even took us to experience the public baths which are a large part of their culture! We then went out into the city to try to talk to youth and invite them to our African youth night. Althought the language barrier is always difficult, Xander and Hope found where everyone hangs out...McDonalds. As Africa night approached we felt God was really going to be present and bless the people attending. On sunday during the church service Frida and Xander shared their personal testimonies and were a blessing to the church. African night was a surprising success even when we didnt think so God was present and it was so much fun! Unfortunatly not many youth showed up that we had talked to days before, and we were feeling a bit discouraged before the night started, but we had to press onwards. We showed the people how to eat pap and fellowshiped with them, then we were able to share african and international culture with them, as well as a drama. Then I (Hope) shared my personal testimony and message about Gods love never failing in my life, and even though there were not many youth there, I feel that my message touched at least one person and that is all that matters. We as a team discovered many things from the night, that God is always present and is working even when we cant see it, and even in our dissappoinment God works and ends up blessing us a million times over. We are having a great time here on outreach, keep praying Gods spirit will work as we go to the university today and tomorrow for evangelism. Pray that God will make away for us on the streets of Okinawa. Sayanora!
